Nine years later

I suddenly thought, let me start a blog. Its been a while since I have done any formal writing to the web. I took this as a good sign to return and continue the blogs I had made earlier.
Ok.. so, what is the same and what has changed since 2012? Well, firs- I am still alive. I think that is quite an achievement considering that the world has been through a demonic pandemic over the past year with India, in particular, going through a severe second wave right now. The pandemic has devastated more lives, more families than I would care to recount here. Suffice to say, we are still in the middle of it, the number of deaths is still growing and there is no end in sight.

We now have our little princess, Tarana. She became part of our lives in 2013 and has altered hugely the way we live. Obviously. God decided, seeing how we enjoyed Calvin and Hobbes, to give us a Calvin in flesh. Calvin had only one Hobbes for his friend. Tarana has a bigger group- Winnie, Sammy, Iris, Ariel, Tribhanga. We have to be on top of them and their birthdays also, else Madam will not let us remain in peace. Suffice to say, she is the antithesis of my silly imaginings of a girl child.

Aruna and I both are in our forties now. Nine years ago, I was still in my 30s and could be called a youth! Not now. Thinking of retirement, retired life..well, that's not too far off. Thanks to His blessings, we are doing well financially and as a family. Our family still remains healthy and hopefully, we will wade through the pandemic and emerge stronger.

Now importantly, on the hobbies front, significant changes. I have shifted over from the digital to the analog. I was deep into gizmos-gadgets in 2012. I have little interest in them now. All my passion is now going into writing with fountain pens. Now, I have always had an interest in fountain pens. Even in my school days, I remember I used to enjoy special pens of Hero and even Stic pens. My uncle used to collect pens. But now, this has become a real passion. It all started with a simple urge to improve my handwriting. I thought fountain pens would help me recover my writing. I started to enjoy the writing experience and this has grown and grown as I have discovered the different kinds of nibs and writing possibilities. This is likely what I am going to write most about on this blog for the upcoming months and years.

All right.. so, I think I have brought myself up to date on this blog again now. It's time to start writing again.
