The GT group of 1997 met up at Chennai. Sriram had come in from Londaon, Harsha from Bombay, I(Sathya) from Bangalore and Kicha and Vivek had recently returned from their international trips.

It was like old times.. meeting up in the same room of Harsha's, I walking in with a chips packet and a bottle of Pepsi.. lounging around on the bed talking of this and that and rounding the day off with a nice dinner. Sriram and Niv were already at Dhadi's place when I reached. Kicha spent the evening with us but had to miss out on dinner. Vivek came with his family to the restaurant directly.

We got great material for laughts- a couple stand out.

  1. Dhadi's recounting of his stolen laptop incident - a masseur apparently stole our hero's laptop. Harsha, after a deep economic analysis, decided to offer the man Rs 20000/- in return for his laptop!!
  2. We were talking of the Rajdhani restaurant.
Sathya: Dont like the food at Rajdhani. Too oily.
Vivek: Ya man. Shatabdi train is better.
Laughs all around.. Vivek had misunderstood the Rajdhani context. Thought we were talking about the train.
Harsha: Huhu huhu.. but you cant compare them? Rajdhani is a long-distance train and Shatabdi is for shorter distances.
One fool with a stupid comment and a bigger fool debates on it !!
So all in all, the day captured all that is great about our group. Relaxed chats- funny and deep, professional and personal, food, goofy comments, food, grandiose plans for next GT meet up and oh yes- food!

Some moments from the day
